I bought these for my husband before out trip to Colorado. He loved them and said they were very comfortable. He liked the support, especially the arch. There was little breaking in with these shoes to feel comfortable. I read some reviews saying they don't hold up, but i had mine for about 4 years and even threw them in the wash and they held up fine.

If you had these for 4 years, then you had a different version of the shoe, as models are updated every year. Secondly, unless you very rarely wore these anywhere, you wore these long past their useful life. For active individuals, shoes should be replaced every 6 months or so as the support breaks down at this point.
