shorts a go-go

Alright. I like these shorts. Got them in the mail yesterday, wore them on a four hour hike that had 8 stream crossings and some serious water fall scrambling. Extremely comfortable. And they dried really quick after the stream crossings and after bush whacking through the wet ferns.

They do have some flaws, namely two tiny pockets. If you are doing anything with any gear, you'd need a pack to carry stuff. For the post hike maw-fest, I was carrying a cell phone, keys and wallet and the pockets were pretty maxed out.

The sizing is odd. I'm a 32/33" and the medium is snug. Snug like 'not using the waist belt feature at all snug', snug like 'hey, is that VBL I see? snug', snug like 'I'm not eating ice cream snug.'

These are probably the lightest pair of shorts I've ever owned. Nice and stretchy. The material is very soft, almost makes me want to go commando in them. I like the welded seams. More akin to a pair of nice board shorts. I'm going to try running in them this week and see how they feel. They'll be great for bashing the crap out of.

Slightly disappointed that most of the Stoic stuff I've bought recently is made over seas.

So after wearing and washing for two months, they fit better. The material seems to have stretched a little bit.
