Ranked #100 - 3-Season Tents

Ive had this tent for just about two years now. The first time i took it out, it performed flawlessly! However after about the 3rd outing the floor started to leek water(even with a footprint). I also took it out and camped neer some sand dunnes. I set up the tent put the fly on and whent and did some hiking. Later that night when i went to crawl into my tent, I noticed i couldnt even see my sleeping bag because there was so much sand coming into the tent. Then I figured out that the vestibule sits fairly high off the ground. so I had to go gather up some card board and place it around the tent, just so i could sleep. Bottom line, this is not worth your money. Really if you want a high quality backpacking tent go for a Big Agnus copper spur tent. Its very light weight, there is alot more room and its definatly more durable!!

Had the Hubba Hubba for 3-4 years now. Use it about 8 times a year, no leaks, floor is in great shape (I always use the footprint). The only wear is in the fly where I let it drag on some concrete while drying in the sun. Great tent. Would consider the additional Gear Shed for car camping.

In a sandstorm any tent with a mesh will be full of sand. Use a single wall sealed tent if don't like sand (but you will be cooking inside). There's one thing about desert you have to accept: the sand will be everywhere, especially if it's windy. I am a desert rat (and use Hubba Hubba).

I just used the 2011 MSR Hubba Hubba in a real downpour, not a single drop of water got inside the tent... the floor was dry, and no condensation in the morning. You can see the rain and tent in a youtube video I made here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sQ73eHnsR lg

Garret, I was thinking about buying this MSR Hubba Hubba tent, but after reading your review I am feeling uncertain. I slept in an MSR in really rainy conditions and I woke up soaking wet. I thought that this could be because of the fact that the tent was older and had a lot of use (we were on a guided canyoneering trip and the tent belonged to the company). However, now that I am reading your review I am wondering if these MSR tents are notorious for this. How many uses did you have on this tent went it first started to leaK? was the tent new or used when you bought it? Any other feedback you may have about the tent will be very helpful. Thank you so much for your time.
