Decent pants

First impression is it is heavier and more rugged than the previous version. I owned a pair before and it was a little softer and lighter. Unfortunately it didn't survive the abuses of my crampons and I had to get a pair of Marmot Scree. Comparing to the Scree, it is definitely not as nice. The threading are not trimmed and i can see several thread ends hanging on my new pants. If I pull on them, the threads might come off, so I just trimmed them with a scissor and hope for the best. The material is on the heavier side. It seems to be more rugged than the Scree, but not sure about the breath-ability. The reason I get this is because the sizing of the Scree sucks. I usually wear a 31/30 and the small size fits me well. Although a little tight on the waist, but it does offer a spacer button. I really don't like the fact that it didn't have a zipper at the bottom of the legs like the Scree, so I can expand them and put them over my huge mountaineering boots. All in all, a nice pair of pants for 70. For 130, there are other choices out there.
