It was great but didn't hold up

It pains me to return this garment - I loved wearing it, and it fit and looked great. It felt great through a range of temperatures. Astonishingly, the washing directions were to put it in the wash AND the dryer! Although I did this once, and it didn't seem to shrink, I usually dried it on the line.

Anyway, it was $150, and it's not like I wore it every day. And 2.5 years later, it has suddenly developed a bunch of holes. And it's not from moths. The fabric is suddenly disintegrating. If it weren't Patagonia and didn't cost so much, I would figure oh well. But I certainly expected this to last much longer. I'm sad it didn't.

Final note, thank god I ordered this from Backcountry, because I tried to return something straight to Patagonia before and I was very dissatisfied with the way they handled it. They did NOT give me a full refund when I felt they should have. Backcountry, you are awesome about returns. Patagonia should take a lesson from you.
