Ranked #232 - Women's Softshell Jackets
March 21, 2011
I received this jacket and have been on the fence as to whether or not I should return it. I was hoping to find something to bridge the gap between my winter Arcteryx softshell (too heavy for spring) and summer weather. This jacket fits nicely (although the pockets are oddly high and not comfortable to use) and it has an interior collar, which I like. It is neither windproof nor waterproof, which is fine except that for the price I expected a few more bells and whistles. I ordered a medium and it fit my long arms nicely. I am 5'51/2 and 130 lbs. with a fairly slim athletic build (monkey arms). Not much room for layering though. A hooded sweatshirt would be too much. I spend my free time hiking, running, skiing and I don't think this jacket is appropriate for any of that. It is less of a performance piece and more of a "looks great walking the dog in a mountain town" piece, in my opinion. The chocolate brown color is very nice. I may order it in white for 1/2 the price and call it a day.
