This is what all other soft shells are trying to be. All the hype around the polartec power shield fabric is well deserved, and backcountry did not do it injustice in their design and application. I worried about there not being any wrist closure, not even an elastic cuff, but it has been a non issue. Performs top notch for breathability and flexibility but it's also durable. This thing is also surprisingly really comfortable - as much so as a fleece but performs like a shell.
