A good kettle but the lid does not like to stay on during pouring, and even the little rubber part at the top, heats up pretty quickly

Flames dont lap over the sides of mine either. I use a Brunton Raptor mainly. It is a great kettle, but using a different material for the top tab, would solve issues. I probably use the kettle more than you do, more than most people. My wife and I are coffee addicts, so cooler wet weather, it is being used almost non stop

I usually have no problem with my lid staying on. Although I usually (but not always) hold the handle with one hand and gently place two fingers from my other hand on the lid when pouring, this acts as somewhat of a stabilizer. My lid does not fit tight but I have not had any problems with it falling off. I also have not had any problem with the top silicone lid lifter heating up either. Although the flames from the stoves I use it with are not lapping up the sides either. Most people (but not all I'm sure) that complain about the handles or lid lifter heating up, or worse, melting, usually are using the kettle over an open fire, or with a stove in which the flames lick up the sides. In this case, this cannot be helped, and is not really a flaw in the product.
