Little glove, big heart

When I first got these gloves, I was a little shocked by how light they felt. The first time I pulled them on they felt tight and almost uncomfortable. Yet five minutes later (after waterproofing them with some Nikwax with them on my hands), I didn't want to take them off! My experience with these gloves only got better from there. There is very low profile foam on the back of these gloves that serves as insulation, as well as the obviously much thicker pads over the knuckles. These gloves are thin-it is important to note that- but they are warmer than I thought possible. On a 0 degree (F) day skiing in NY, my hands not once got cold, even while my girlfriend complained about her hands in her monstrous down mittens. Equally important is the waterproofing of these gloves. Treated right these will keep you warm even if you take a dive or two. Personally I think that the neoprene cuff on these is excellent and quite comfortable, with the one exception that a slightly larger velcro patch on the cuff might make it more secure. The fit and dexterity is excellent. The finger tips (wolfpaw construction) are accurate, even allowing me to text on my phone on the lift. Only the thumb bothers me slightly; it lacks the more structured and padded feel of the fingers. I would like to see the back of the thumb slightly more reinforced. Finally, while some people might not like the look of the purple leather on the palm, in person it looks far more subtle.
