Carabiner is not a climbing carabiner

There is no reason to sell a set of nuts with some cheapo chinese plastic non-climbing carabiner. There are a number of problems with this, and frankly, I am surprised at BD for doing it. This carabiner very closely resembles a real carabiner in the photo and you would have no idea until you get it. And if you were a total gumby you might even end up using it while climbing (less likely) but possible.
What further complicates the matter is that BD always sells their nut sets with an actual carabiner. How was I supposed to know? False advertising and dangerous decision from a respected (by me) US company. Backcountry, you should check your listing as well. This would be an obvious thing to mention as it changes the deal substantially and is unsafe (in my opinion).
UPDATE: Backcountry has resolved the issue for me. Their customer service fixed the issue (somewhat reluctantly). I still recommend BD stoppers however, not this set beacause of the problem mentioned above. Also, it's not clear on BD's website that this carabiner is not a climbing carabiner. Go figure! I am following up with BD offline.

No, you rack anything and everything on climbing grade carabiners. Using that plastic bs is stupid.

The reason that they put the plastic carabiener on the stoppers is because thats how you rack stoppers...you put them all on one carabiener and then you use quickdraws to attach them to the rope.
