PROS:
- Well Made
- Big enough for 2 with space
- Storage for parents jacket, water, food, keys, phone, mail etc...
- Rolls really well
- Weather Shield
- Screen
- Suspension
- Foot Brake (con to...)
- Accessories you can buy
- Folds up small
CONS:
- Brake is hard to set when storage pouch is down.
- EXPENSIVE
- Sun Visor sux
- Can't use without buying another attachment such as front tire(s), bike attachment, skis etc... You just get a pod without these things. I guess you could push it around without the front tire. Bring a round of wood to set the front on when you stop. LOL.
RANT:
It's great for 2 kids. We have a 1.5 yr old and a 3 month old and it's great. I hated this thing when my wife first suggested it cause you get this pod then have to buy a front tire to even use it. WHAT?! I'm spending $600 on something I can't use without spending another $100. That's as lame as it gets. Then to put an infant in, I need to buy a $70 insert, unless I am crafty or you have a wonderful sister in law who sends their old one... thank the Lord for her.
So it's expensive... Whatever... that's the breaks. Your kids will thank you for the comfy ride. :)
The Charriot is really, really nice and well built. $700+ for my kids to be wheeled around outside in any type of weather is great. The plastic rain fly works well, however, if it was shaded a little it would be great for sun too... the sun visor deal that folds down is just something for my daughter to pull on. The screen is great for the warmer days keeping debris from the bike tire off the kids ($160 more for that part btw).
There is good airflow inside with the little front flaps pulled open. There is enough room for 2 kids just fine with their water and any other little things they'd like to bring. The fold down storage area near your knees is really roomy, but you tend to hit it with your knees unless you drag your feet or stand with your arms stretched out a little.
Everything we've attached onto the pod has gone on easily and securely. It folds up really small for how big it is. Fits in the Subaru fine.
I would like to see a Sled attachment rather than the Skis. The skis are worthless for any backcountry skiing. A sled would be much better for the pow.
My Advice? Get one on a zero interest CC and pay it off over a year. Then it doesn't seem so expensive. :)
