Mountain Hardwear G50 Softshell Jacket

Nice jacket but without base layers the wind penetrates at 54 degrees when standing still, but the jacket gets too hot while doing anything active in 30 degree ambient temperatures. So I am not too sure what to use this jacket for. It makes a good base layer if you have a waterproof shell, also the outer material is extremely tough. I have brushed up against many rocks and trees, and when I thought for sure there would be a tear I looked and the material was not even marked. Its a good jacket just do not wear base layers with it or you will get to hot, and when you reach your base camp and start to cool down it should then become a base layer depending on the temp.
