Giro Manifest Goggle w/Bonus Lens

Item #GIR0181 | 87 in Stock
2 Star Rating

Limited range of view and poor 2nd lens color

By Ranked #395 - Goggles February 17, 2011

The new trend, I'm understanding, is to weld two lenses together to try to form a waterproof dual lens system. Seems like a good idea but the weld for these goggles, and others I've seen, like Smith, dramatically obscures the potential field of vision by keeping the weld inside the edge of the frame as apposed to underneath the edge. This technique limits the field of vision by a lot, (can you say tunnel vision). In particular, these goggles are also really expensive compared to the Smith I/O which costs less with a case that will hold all of your spare lenses and protect your frames and the installed lens when they're packed. The 2nd lens, black, given with these goggles also isn't a particularly good lens for "medium" conditions or good snow contrast.I wonder if they're so expensive because they have Carl Zeiss make the lenses so a bunch has to go to them. Food for thought.Lens change system is better, however, than on the Smith I/O.
