Gear Review
Warm and light bag
By Bruce Lee
Ranked #181 - 55 to 30 Degree Down Bags
February 2, 2011
Myself: warm sleeper. (I generate more heat than the average person when sleeping).
Tested:
camping in NH in Sept. with night time lows in 30s and high humidity. Slept comfortably in base layers but bag was very damp in the morning. A fault of the tent setup and not the bag.
camping in NJ in Oct. with night time lows in the 40s. Bag is more than warm enough, slept almost naked with bag unzipped.
Bag:
Light and lofty considering the pack size and weight. Color accurate in photo and size is not restricting. Material feels great to sleep in. Must treat like any other down piece of gear during use, storage, and cleaning. Great design: i.e. double zipper is glow-in-the-dark and can be pulled inside or outside the bag. Comes with Tactel stuff sack AND a roomier nylon storage bag.
Cost:
You WILL pay for 750-fill down. A little pricey here but snagged a great deal off SAC.
