Hestra Heli Mitten

Item #HES0018 | 219 in Stock

Awesome. Maybe too good.

By Ranked #270 - Mittens January 26, 2011

I got a set of Hestra Heli Mitts a couple of years ago and have loved them dearly. They are warm enough for the coldest days when worn with the liners, but can also be used as shells with a different, thinner liner (your own) on warmer/touring days.

I've loved them so much that I've been babying the leather, so I was nothing short of heartbroken when I noticed tears in both palms this morning. I do suppose they had a good run, but given the pricepoint, I was expecting to get more than 2 seasons out of those...

On a side note, has anyone got suggestions as to how to patch leather mitts.. nicely?

Write your comment here...hey if you want to fix the leather take them to a shoe repaair place and ask the repairman for a quote. I did this in the past and it only cost me $20 to repair both mitts from board grabs on sharp edges. plus they were way tougher after.
