I bought this boat a year ago from backcountry.com. They gave me great service. I picked it up at the store in salt lake (the girl was cute too!) We have this and a tsunami 140. First of all, Wilderness systems makes a well built boat when compared to other manufactures, even from the same parent company. For the first 8 months I didn't have a rudder and got along fine. I added a rudder and it works well, probably worth the money, but if you cant afford it, no sweat.

I'm 5'll" and 135 pounds and I love the 145 for one reason...I never have to worry about how much junk I take with me, there's room. This is nice if the weather is questionable or you want extra food along. The measurements seem insignificant compared to the 140 but there is a definite difference in size. I suppose if you're on the larger side of the scale (ie Fat) you would benefit from this boat, but if you're skinny and like to pack for any situation, this is also the boat you want. I think I have as much storage as my buddies 17 footer. The cockpit is easy to get in and out of and there is enough room to bend my legs a little - nice to move around on a long paddle trip.

There are lots of deck lines on the tsunami 140 or 145, all very nice to have. The hatches have been great on our boats, very leak proof. I have read that others were not water tight, but ours have been, even in roll overs or waves breaking over the bow. Great boats!
