Worth every penny at full price. On sale or SteepandCheap, buy 3. Merino wool is always expensive. Next to Icebreaker, this is the best Ive found for the fit and cost.
I use this shirt as a base layer (cycling/skiing) and as a casual t-shirt. It regulates your core temp well. The collar is a little odd (look at the detail shots in lighter colors). Basically each side slopes down towards the center of the neck with a small triangle that bridges between the two sides. Regardless of why its cut like this, it seems to help the collar lay very flat against the neck/chest (i.e., good at keeping the wind out while cycling in the drops).
For cycling, I wear it alone with a short sleeve summer weight cycling jersey and lycra arm warmers down to 50-55 F. I wore one out with a pair of thermal bibs, Castelli LS thermal jersey and Castelli Leggerezza jacket at 15F and I was too warm.
Size Info.: Small for my 36 chest fits perfectly (not too tight, not too loose). My metrics are: 155 lbs, 61, 36 chest.
