Gear Review
Comfortable, durable and flattering

I wore these for a weekend of trail-building, and then for a week of hiking and camping in Big Bend. They hold up very well under pretty rugged conditions (including off-trail scrambling and sitting around on the ground) and the stretch makes them extra-comfortable. I love the warmth. I'd say they are warm enough alone for 40s-60s, and warm enough with a base layer for teens or lower. They shed water and snow quite well. And on top of all this, they have a very flattering fit and dirt and mud just brushes right off. I have them in black and never felt like I was conspicuously "geared up" when shopping and eating in town.
I love the cozy fleece-lined pockets (feel so good on cold hands!), the zippered leg pocket, and the bottom zippers (though if I had one quibble, these would open up the legs a tad more).
I am 5'4", normal pant size 8 petite. I got the medium short length (not from Backcountry, who sadly doesn't carry that length) and they fit perfect. Can't wait until I can find (or until Marmot produces) more, so I can get a second pair in gray.
