Yup, get on board (peer pressure)

By Ranked #74 - Avalanche Beacons January 4, 2011

Intuitive, simple, and effective. When it really matters you need a beacon that you know how to use and know how to use quickly. This is that beacon. Don't worry about fanciness with other beacons and multiple burials etc. Worry about knowing how to save your partner and learning to avoid bad situations in the first place. It is also comfy and not too heavy. I've used the Pieps DSP and much prefer the style of the DTS because it is less likely to switch from search to transceive and vice-versa on its own. My only suggestion for improvement is to make the harness go over both shoulders so the beacon stays centered on your chest (mine always migrates to my side) - put it on a harness similar to a radio harness like ski patrol.
