Great down, ok up

Well, a little lighter than the freerides and barons/dukes, great feel skiing downhill, but the up is not so great. Tough to sidehill/traverse in these, they feel a bit wobbly. Really hard to get them into ski mode from tour mode if they are loaded with snow from the uptrack. Personally I use a dynafit for all of my touring, but put these on some Darksides for the occasional ski hill/side country hit.

the key is to never let the binding go flat on the ski, keep it in the lowest "rise'' position when touring so the snow doesn't become compacted ice in your binding. I've been doing it this way for years in the Cascades and I've never had an issue.

Agree, I've also found these very difficult to put back to ski mode. I've been carrying a multi-tool to scrape the ice from the binding mount plates.

you have to scrape the snow/ice from the tracks and apply pressure to the heelpiece to ski mode. Ever have your fritches go into tour mode on the down? It's like tele!

These are very hard to switch from tour to ski mode. But once they are in ski mode, they are rock sold.
