Beware pockets and dingleberries

I like the material, and the cut is okay but would be better if I were skinny; luckily they stretch. I however, like many other reviewers, cannot get past the MAJOR DESIGN FLAWS... #1 the pockets fill with snow if you're in powder or so much as sit in the snow and worse than that, they are lined with mesh, so there's a perpetual dripping snowball inside your pants - nice. I'm going to try to just sew them shut. #2 The cuffs are also too small, they BARELY fit over my lightweight AT boots. Worse than that, they are secured unnecessarily by snaps, which can come undone and flail through the snow next to your boot, each becoming a dingleberry of packed snow.

I understand that in touring snow in the pockets may not be an issue and testers agreed, but I have to wonder at the design of such pockets in the first place. Who thought that non-zippered side pockets would be a good idea on pants designed for active use in snow? I don't put anything in them less because I'm worried about snow and more because I'm worried about things falling out. It just seems like introducing potential problems that would have been better served even by no pockets there at all!

I have simply sat down in these pants and have had snow come in the pockets. Snow comes in whether or not you are "falling a lot." I would have to agree with kit. And the leg cuffs are to small.

i wanted to clarify on these points. the rear pockets, and the thigh cargo pockets are zippered and closeable. the two front pockets are traditional slash pockets, that are not zipped. some testers have noticed that the Front pockets can collect snow if you are falling a lot or as one tester described 'late night sledriding'. For Touring, skinning up the hill, and skiing down the hill, testers have not noticed snow collecting. the cuffs are designed to fit snugly over the boot - this is intended to keep snow out. the snaps are needed to relieve the stress on the zipper, and to keep the flap over the zipper.
