Ranked #1 - Women's Down Jackets
December 21, 2010
I will be totally honest, my first thought was to buy my wife a Patagonia Down Sweater. We went to look at them and after trying them both on she preferred the fit of the Marmot. They are both fine garments but the cut of the Marmot was more to her liking. Later we ended up finding a Patagonia on clearance and bought it anyways but she still wears the Marmot more.
This is a quality jacket with 800 Fill Down and it packs down small and is really lightweight. Works fantastic under a shell. Very windproof for how lightweight it is and the DWR sheds light precip but I wouldn't want to get this in a downpour.

A quick note about sizing, my wife is 5'6" and about 125 pounds and she bought the Medium. Enough room to layer some but not so big that she can't wear it without layers.
