Ranked #299 - Men's Technical Shells
December 17, 2010
After reading the reviews and deciding to get what was described as "bomber proof," for me, this jacket was a dud.
Yes the GoreTex Pro Shell fabric is top of the line and I have no doubt that you could slide down a mountain with it. But the main zipper was defective?/! ... Got into a serious rain/ice storm and layered up to head outside. After about 20 minutes in a literal downpour I started to feel a cold spot on my chest. Water was rolling off the fabric so I didn't think much of it but after 40 minutes it became annoying. Got inside and noticed that the area around the main zipper was wet. This was a 1st. I've several ArcTeryx items and have rarely been disappointed with the quality, style or function. Would I recommend it to others, I probably would, but, because of the zipper leak, it only gets 3 stars.
