Rab Exodus Softshell Jacket - Men's

Item #RAB0045 | 0 in Stock
4 Star Rating

odd fit, but otherwise just what I wanted

By Ranked #937 - Men's Softshell Jackets December 14, 2010

I'm 6'1" 195lbs, with arms and shoulders proportionate to someone 6'3", and I found that the XL was tight in the shoulders and armpits, yet loose enough in the torso that going to XXL wouldn't have made sense. For those of you with normal proportions, this will make a good layering piece with flexibility to have a lot under and over.
Other than the unfortunate fit, this piece has a lot of good things going for it:
Helmet-compatible hood, super-breathable material, zip vents for when you *really* want to dump heat, high pockets (accessible when wearing a harness or pack), a generous and comfy high collar/hood, articulated arms, clever gather/closure cord arrangements.

I agree. But not that uncomfortable. And since it's such a great shell otherwise I'll keep it.

I had the exact same problem. I am 5'11 and have broad shoulders, the XL was way too long in the arms and billowy around the waist. At the same time I could barely close my shoulders. Very weird fit, definitely going back.

It`s best to try a jacket on in a store before you buy it, but I realise this may not always be possible. I`m 6`2"/195lbs, and the XL size fits me perfectly

I had the same problem- the shoulders are way too tight. I'm a big guy, and when I encounter sizing issues its usually that the torso doesn't accommodate my gut. The Exodus and other Rab jackets ice reputed on have the opposite problem- plenty of room in the torso, but tiny shoulders. It might fit Grimace better than most XXL athletic fatties.

I really like this jacket, however I found the same to be true. I'm about 6' 190lbs, with 41" chest. The large fit great, except for the under-arm area, which seemed to be rather tight. Very flexible fabric, though, so still considering the purchase. Great and seemingly durable piece.
