I've worn nothing but Vasque and would have never switched. I've had a pair that just went in the trash. They switched a half dozen years ago to the glued on sole, which just disintegrated with about 50% of the sole dangling. Oddly enough this pair has been pampered compared to the first pair which are still solid (hiked a chunk of the Continental Divide in those and still good, circa 1980). The last pair (from China) 6 years ago are trash not repairable and 1 year warranty (as was pointed out). So I’m looking to find the best brand.

If you bought them from BackCountry, you have a lifetime warranty on everything you buy from them. I'm on my second pair of Vasque, well outside of the 1 year Vasque warranty and Backcountry is replacing them due to a defective heel box that is collapsing inward. Backcountry has great customer service!
