Gear Review
Slim-fit

Ranked #236 - Men's Softshell Pants

These pants are described as a slim-fit pant by the patagonia website and they truly are a slim fitting pant. I intended to use them for telemark skiing, but found that even in a size 38 they were too tight for my liking. If you have large thighs or posterior, you may want to save yourself the pain of returning and look for a more relaxed fit. Despite the fitting issues the shell itself was exaclty what I was looking for, it is strechy while maintaining good thickness, which I was hoping would stand up to my edges.
The length of these pants is very generous, I would guess they are a 33.75" inseam. I normally wear a 36" x 35", but felt that the length of these pants would do the trick. In my search I also tried on some Fly Low gear which had a solid toughness to the fabric and a generous length and little more relaxed fit.
In the end I opted for a pair of Stoic Tour pants, and I have been pleased with them. They breathe very well, are nice and thick without being too warm and have a good length for me without being super tight in the thighs or rear and backcountry rountinely puts them on sale for which is great.
