Salomon Shogun Boots

I had the opportunity to test out these boots. My main concern is always comfort. I dealt with frustrations every time I put on ski boots because of the pain on the side, underneath, and pretty much all over which would leave my foot with no circulation literally after 10-20 minutes of skiing. I have quite a wide foot and I am surprised that the Shogun is a good match for a wide foot (however it has a 98mm last width, but feels like a 104mm). The heel was a bit tight but customizations such as heat molding the liner did the job. I like how this boot can be modified easily through shop work if needed. All around it is a well designed boot that is comfy. The 2 buckle system is fantastic, for me I find it's a better system for comfort without losing any performance; however I recommend a custom orthotic if your feet do not like the flat basic liner (bottom foot pain) the orthotic will be kind to your feet and also give you better holding around on your feet, can also help improve ski carving. With the comfort of this boot and an orthotic, if needed, you'll be skiing in this all day with a smile on your face.
