these are solid skis. to give some background, i ski mostly in tahoe which is where i put the S86 through its paces. it excelled everywhere on the mountain, groomers, light pow, crud, you name it. the metal in the top sheet combined with the early rise tip and tail make for a super smooth ride and i never felt like the S86 was bucking me off, and i'm a lightweight at 145lbs 5'9". i was riding the Line Prophet 100s before this, and can honestly say that the S86 is a superior ski. it's way more maneuverable on the mountain in just about any condition. solid skis!

Scott - just wondering what size S86 you're skiing. I'm almost the same exact size as you and have been skiing a 170 for many years but was thinking of sizing down with a wider ski, but the 162 seems like it would be too short.
