Great Climbing Pack

Ranked #331 - Overnight Backpacks (2000 - 2999 cu in)

Bought this pack in early 2009 specifically for climbing - liked the outside pocket designed for a rope. The construction is great and built to handle a lot of wear and tear. Taken this out about 10 times and it fits about everything you need for trad climging - 10mm/60m rope, full rack in the main bucket compartment and the mesh pocket under the lid holds keys, bars and sunscreen. Everything packs tight and comfortable - you can load it up!
The waterbottle holders are good news / bad news. They fit nalgeen bottles perfectly and are low profile but if the pack is full, it is difficult to get them loaded in and not convienient to take them out - I use the side straps threaded through the nalgeen lid leash to keep them inplace. If you are packing light, there is a place for a blatter as well.
All in all this pack is designed well and I would recommend it.
