Total disappointment - And I'm a big MH Fan!

By Ranked #254 - Women's Synthetic Insulation Jackets December 2, 2010

The proportions of this jacket coupled with the exterior fabric make this jacket a saggy sack. First, I'm a huge Mountain Hardwear fan and own several MH jackets from down to fleece to shells. I bought this jacket after buying it two years in a row for my son in the youth version and really digging on the quality and the fit. But this women's version is boxy, the sleeves are loose and long from the shoulder down and the fabric is so fluid that the hood simply does not work. First, because the sleeves are so long and wide but then end in a gathered semi-elastic, you get the puff and bunch up factor. The coat is boxy, so even at the right size where the shoulders fall in the right place, the rest of the coat just hangs. What I like about the youth version is it is fitted at the bottom, almost like a wide band of the same fabric cut a bit slimmer, but despite the MH specs and photo showing this for the women's version, it doesn't work. I noticed MH indicates it "updated" this jacket for 2010, so not sure if the former version was any better. But mine is an immediate return.
