New Fit

By Backcountry.com Employee November 18, 2010

Fit is a bit different from last year. Last years bombshell jackets ran short, so to get the right length you needed to size up at least 1 size. Not so with this years jacket. Last year I wore an XL, this year a medium is perfect for me. I'm 5' 10" 165 lbs, ~41" chest. Length of arms and length of jacket is perfect.

my chest measurement is 42 in is it pushing it too much to get a medium? all of the other specs on the medium would work for me.

I'll post a pic at some point. Definitely longer sizing this year. The medium is pretty long, last year the XL was still a bit short on me. Just a note, if you ski at the Bird do not buy a green jacket ;)

I chatted with a backcountry support person and then I called the 800 number. No one 'really' knew if the jacket was actually a different size. I'm more concerned about the length as my '09-10 bombshell is short, even on me (I'm a sawed off 5'7" male). The person I talked to, gave me the back length on the medium as 28.25" on the 2010-11 model. I compared it against my medium (I have small and mediums) and my '09-10 measured between 27.5-28.25" depending how hard I stretched the fabric. Safe to say it doesn't really seem like it's longer. Wish it was.

the bombshell jackets for 2010 are more generous, and true to size. check the size chart, and measure your body size. then select the size, and the jacket will be loose enough for good insulation, but still a great fit.
