You certainly get your money's worth with these babies. Not the most expensive or flashy, but they block a lot of light and don't weigh much on your face at all. The side shields are apparently removable, but it feels like you're going to break the glasses when you try it.
I have a large face and these fit me well. They do come with a nice plastic case, a cleaning cloth, and eyeglass retainers - although the retainers aren't great.
For usage on snow or water and in very bright conditions, these have served me well. Not really meant for general purpose but i suppose they'd work. Not for driving.

Totally agree with Simon. The side shields are definitely removable, though they are slightly difficult. I found the best way to do it is to push the bottom and top of the shield with your thumbs while holding the frame...and push really hard. Many other Julbo glasses have magnetic side shields.
