Ranked #105 - Women's Hiking Boots
November 10, 2010
I purchased my Asolo Stynger GTX boots in 2007 and from the second I slipped them on, they fit like a glove. I've hiked mostly short trips with them (longest was a 5-day trek), and they've kept my feet happy -- no blisters, no foot pain, dry yet breathable. Unfortunately, on my last longer-distance trip, the sole of my right boot started to separate from the body. This was surprising, since I don't feel like they'd really logged a lot of distance or took an exceptionally hard pounding over time. I took the boots to a shoe repair place and they were able to seal the sole back to the body of the boot, but now I don't feel like the boot is truly waterproof anymore. A big bummer, because in every other way, I love these boots.

I had the same problem. WIthin a short amount of time they seperated. I glued them back down with Gorilla glue and wore them completely out after about 2 years. I love the fit, feel, weight, breathability, flexibility, I could just about run in these...but they need to improve the craftsmanship so the sole doesn't seperate...otherwise I'd buy another pair. I love the design and colors....soooo sick of brown hiking boots or black!

I have to agree with you on this one, look at where they are manufactured? China? HEy, Buy USA, and look for the Vibram souls, outlast anything, besides, china makes items that are no where near the quality of us made goods. Boycott china, US needs jobs.
