Perfect for me

By Ranked #355 - Women's Softshell Jackets November 9, 2010

I have had this jacket for about 8 months now, and have worn it in all kinds of weather, so I can give you the 411. It is lightweight, and blocks wind great. I am not sure if it is supposed to be waterproof, but I've worn it in the rain and the water just beads up on top of the fabric-when I come inside, I give it a shake-and voila it is dry. I ride a Harley, but am not into all the fringes and conches-this jacket looks sleek on and very form flattering. I'm 5'8" and a size 12. Two things that make it awesome for riding or traveling, when in a sitting position you can unzip the bottom zipper a bit so the jacket stays in place and this jacket has thumb loops on the sleeve bottoms. The sleeves are cut long enough so that they don't ride up when riding, and gauntlet gloves will fit nicely over the sleeve and thumb loops-so no cold wrists. I have worn this jacket on cold days, but wouldn't recommend it solo-you'll need to layer it-I use the Mountain Hardwear Nitrous jacket with it for our Dakota cold. I get tons of compliments on it whenever I wear it (which is alot). It is formfitting, especially at the hips, but that's not really an issue b/c of the bottom zipper. I often wear t-shirts underneath and have no problems with skin irritation. My only complaint is that I'm not crazy about the hand pocket, it has one which zips. The pocket is placed so that when you open it, your phone/keys/whatever are toward the side of the jacket, and it's very awkward to try to get things out of your pocket. Wish it had two normal hand pockets. The arm pocket is fine, so issues with wind.
