MSR Skinny One is a great tent!

I don't agree with the other review that states that the full length ventilation is misleading and that it really doesn't have full length ventilation... it does. All you have to do is unzip the non entry end top opening a little bit, say about 12" wide, let it open up a bit, and you have full ventilation from end to end. The geometry of the tent is such that you still have rain protection even with the rain flap unzipped ~12" across the top. The interior length of this tent is better than any other one person MSR tent, such as the Hubba for example. the great thing about the Skinny one (and skinny two) is the open feeling at the entry end when one is lying down with your head near the entry door. You don't get that claustrophobic feeling like you do in the Hubba with the tent material coming down around your head. You can look out with the center flap rolled up. Even with the center flap up, you still have rain protection. I really like this tent, although it is small, it is not claustrophobic, which for me is very important. As I get older, I have more issues with claustrophobia inside one man tents.... I don't feel any of that with the skinny one.... very well thought out design... not as light weight as some other one person tents... but the extra weight is well worth the geometry design of the skinny one... I also like the simplicity of the single wall tent..... and even though it is not a "free standing" tent, it is very easy to set up.... easier than many "free standing" tents in my opinion.... I have been using free standing tents for the past 30 years... the skinny one is the first non free standing tent I have purchased, and I find no issues with it not being free standing..... another great, well designed, durable MSR product!
