the only thing i would change about this axe would be to place a steel tip at the end of the shaft (bottom). My tip has dulled significantly due to aluminum construction. The pick has rust in spots-but its been great. After several years of use, ive never filed the pick and it has proven very durable (forged picks are much stronger) The pick has proven to be very durable compared to former BD mountaineering axes ive had. But its double the price of some axes, so it should be more durable.
