Gear Review
Smartwool is the best. This sock is their best ski sock.

I started using this sock last year when I discovered there was a sock with padding in the heel, but ultralight in the rest of the foot. Before that, I was using the Smartwool PhD Ultralight, which doesnt have any padding and is what I would recommend in a new boot.
I would also recommend this Ski Racer sock in a new boot if you have narrow feet like me.
The smallest amount of sock possible will keep the feet the warmest by wicking away as much moisture as possible.
The heel padding held my narrow feet in the boot better. It also has shin padding which I could care less about, but some people need a sock with shin cushion and no padding in the foot. It is a good combination of padding without adding thickness anywhere else in the sock and not having to produce two different socks.
For this season, I got another pair, the Loden color.
I also love that I can hand wash these socks and they dry fast since I don't have a washer/dryer.
When I get my Full Tilt Soul Sisters, I plan on wearing my Ultralights for heat molding and the first few days of skiing, then switching to this sock.
Smartwool is the only wool that I can wear.
I would recommend this sock to everyone except those who are allergic to wool.
