Good Poles for the Money

By Ranked #200 - Trekking Poles September 21, 2010

I used to think poles were wrong. Then I tried them. Now I won't hike without them. I tried an REI set first that had shocks in them and it just felt wrong and unsettling especially going downhill. These poles are very sturdy and simple to setup. I feel that the lock holds very well unless it gets very wet and then sometimes they slip a little bit. The straps and hand holds are good and I have used them in winter with gloves and they worked fine. My wife has a pair too and we both have enjoyed them and used them a lot for the last couple years.
