Made in China? Different breed

I wanted to love this classic boot but it never worked for me. I put some serious mileage on them, but never felt like they broke in, and I ended up with heel blisters after every hike, even after adding custom insoles.

Part of my disappointment may just be the shape of my feet not being a good fit for this boot. However, I've heard that the new Sundowners made in China don't hold a candle to the old ones made in Italy. Unfortunately, the new breed is nothing like the old breed.
