I'm 5'3'' and 120lbs with a pretty athletic build and a bit of a butt and the size 6 short fits perfect! (A 29'' to 30'' inseam fits me perfect). Couldn't have found a better pair of pants.
They are lightweight and dry fast. I've ended up wearing these pants all over town because they are so comfortable. I'm actually online now to buy a second pair before they discontinue!
I haven't done any winter hiking in them yet, but imagine that they are bit too lightweight for cold weather activities.

One more thing...has far as I can tell the sizes are true to size. Size 6 usually fits great on me and this pant does as well.
