Picture on this website is misleading. wtf?

By Ranked #615 - Men's Technical Shells September 4, 2010

I picked up one of these, and I'm disappointed to find its not what is pictured on the BC.com website. The zipper is cheap, so instead of using a waterproof zipper with draft guard there is a cumbersome flap over the zipper with lots of velcro. The main pockets are small. The hood is barely helmet compatible. The goretex softshell fabric feels like an excellent fabric for a resort skiing shell, but the brushed liner fabric is difficult to layer against as it will catch on anything made of wool or fleece.

Overall its not a bad peice but its not what i expected and I'm not sure I'm going to keep it. Why does the picture on the website show a different jacket than what I recieved?

We did get the photos updated. As of today, they are correct. I uploaded some warehouse photos of the Teak and Caviar fronts to help clarify as well. Red and Teak have a flap over the zipper, the Caviar does not.

I live in Salt Lake and went in to the warehouse to check out the coat and the various colors. I Checked out all three colors and I noticed that the caviar(black) is very different then the Teak and the flame red. If you look at the picture of the guy wearing the teak colored coat you will see how the the flame red and the teak are constructed. The caviar coat is the same as pictured. The coat is great and for this price you cannot go wrong.

I'm glad (in that "I'm not entirely crazy" kind of way) to find out that I am not the only person who felt something was off with his new Narvik (Teak). No wrist gaiters, different zips, and the pockets aren't right. Probably going to keep it because it's a slick coat, but still... not what I thought I was buying.

I concurred with Christopher3000, the jacket that I received on September 8, 2010 was exactly what he described. Totally a different jacket than the one shown on Website. I check Norrona's Website and the latest version of Narvik is the same as the one shown on the website. May be the one that they sold us was the 2009 version.

The Caviar is as pictured, the teak and flame red are not. Both great jackets, but different.

For those who ordered the Caviar color, is it as pictured or the same as those who received the red?

Elise, I think you're mistaken. Here's a link to Norrona's website. The current model is the same on pictured on BC.com. We definitely didn't get the 2010 model. http://products.norrona.com/webshop/tradepoint/b2c/ItemView.aspx?ID=0266-10%203400

Christopher, The reason that the jacket you received and the one we have pictured look different, is because you have the 2010 version and our pics were taken in Fall '09. I'll make sure to pass that on to our content guys to get some updated images soon. We try o'so hard here at BC but sometimes we come up short. Well fix it soon though.
