Good simple, sturdy pack, but won't stand up (literally)

I like this pack a lot, I've had it for about 3 years now and it is still very solid.
My one complaint is that for at least 2 years it was so rigid that it wouldn't stand up on it's own, you had to hold it upright to put anything in - a bit of a pain so I knock one star.
