Gear Review
The Original Model Still the Best
By Noel Hastings
Ranked #558 - Men's Hiking and Climbing Pants

The original model of this pant is the best! I tried the newer, fancier redesigned version and it does not fit the same, the fabric feels slightly different and some useful features are missing. I was lucky to find the old model here and bought a couple up. Super tough (I even had about 3 deer gum and chew them all night to get the salt out, lucky I found my pants in the morning) without a tear! Zip works solid. Pockets are very well placed and usable. Cool when you need them to be, warm when you need them to be. There could be a few minor improvements, sadly the "new" model misses the mark. If you want something that looks a little more fashionable, go for the new ones. If you want tough and useful, go for this older model before they are all gone!
