Gear Review
Incompatible with newer model sun/rain hoods

I bought this model instead of the newer ones as the price was 1/2 the cost of the 2.0. I haven't been able to take it on our trip yet to give it a go. First impression is that it'll work for our needs, although the 5 point child harness present in the newer models would seem to be worth the extra cost.It might be obvious, but I thought I'd point out that this 1.1 model is not compatible with the newer Kelty TC Sun/Rain Hoods sold for the 2010 TC 2.0-3.0 line. There is no place to put the front of the support poles or secure the front straps of that style rain hood. Also, the newer rain hood uses a hook/loop strap through square buckles, while the 1.1 has a snap for the older style sun/rain hood. Only reason I even tried was because the Gear Guru at Backcountry assured me it would work. I'm going to try adding a snap to the back straps and fashioning a sleeve & something for the front loops to secure to and see if I can improvise it to work.
I'll edit my review after out trip with more info!
