I bought these shoes 3 days before a backpacking trip based on the reviews. I was not sure what to expect, either I was going to be miserable, or well love them. I received them just in time, they at first felt a bit snug, but after a day and a 10 mile hike with a 30 pound pack, they felt perfect. I was on a trail with all sorts of terrain from soft dirt, sandy beaches, loose rocky terrain and I even crossed a few waist deep streams. THe shoes handled everything with no problem at all. They are very very grippy even when wet, they have great flexibility, yet they are stiff where you would expect a hiking shoe to be. I had the shoes completely soaked, they did not dry out quickly, however even though they were wet, they did not give me any problems. These shoes are by far the best purchase I have made and they are tough enough to last a very long time.
