This is my 2nd set of these poles. I like these poles for 2 reasons; cork grips and heavier weight. I like the feel of cork instead of the various other handles Leki makes. More importantly I like the heavier weight of the poles, it seems everyone I hike with wants the lightest pole out on the market. I weight 250lbs. with my backpack on, I've bent lighter poles to the point of ruining them in no time. I've bent one of these but it took 3 years to do it. I was able to rebend that pole and still use it today. You wouldn't even know it had taken such an impact if you look at it now. I bought the new pair but probably won't use them for a few years, I figure when I need a new pair this line will have been discontinued from production.
