This shirt is ultralight and breathes as if you have no shirt at all on. I wouldn't recommend buying this as a base layer specifically, it fits like a regular kinda baggy t-shirt. It's more of a hot day hiking shirt. Also it's going to get some serious snags, but won't fall apart or anything. I wouldn't expect this thing to last too long, but it does what it's supposed to very well.
