I travel out of the country several times per year. I was finding the traditional crappy American tourister, Samsonite and other department store luggage did not handle the journey well. I found out about this bag in Men's Journal after they tourture tested it and I was shocked to learn how well the SpaceStation did vs the other more expensive brands.
I will say, I was impressed. My journey for the first time with the bag took me to Rio De Janerio Brazil. I had no less then four people ask me where I got it and what it was. I even had one guy who handles luggage all day tell me it was the best bag he has ever seen.
The bad part is the sheer size of it. I was lucky this trip because Brazil (to and from) allows 75lbs of luggage. Most North American Airlines in the continent and to Brazil have a much lower weight restriction. So, having that said, what I can say for this bag is that if you pack it, prepare to weigh it or pay.
I will certainly invest in a luggage scale before my next trip because the Airlines can gouge you. However, I am so impressed with this bag that I will certainly be yard-sale-ing my old Samsonite luggage and getting a smaller version from Osprey to complete my collection.
I am certainly now an Osprey fan for life.
