I have other Salomon shoes and absolutely love the fit, support and comfort, so despite some bad reviews for the Whisper I went ahead and purchased them...not good! I wore them on the treadmill the first week doing 30-50 min runs thinking they would do and when I hit the pavement it was dreadful. There was no support or cushion or comfort...definately would not recommend this particular style despite my success with the other styles.
