Gear Review
I never needed a hiking boot until I got these.

I had backpacked across the Adirondacks, Great Smoky Mountain National Park, White Mountains, and climbed 5 of Colorado's 14ers in hiking shoes, never feeling the need for a hiking boot. After having great success with 2 other Sportiva products I decided to see what hiking boots were all about.
Pros:
*La Sportiva uses Vibram's impact break system which is now a requirement for every outdoor shoe/boot I buy. I'm 210lbs - coming down scree & talus with a pack used to put massive strain on my knees. These boots have unevenly angled treads so that there is always contact with the ground and IBS means the shoe does the work.
*Super light - lighter than some hiking shoes.
*Not too hot - took these for a week of off trail backpacking through RMNP in August and didn't sweat through a single pair of socks.
*Break in fast - Wore them all day the day I bought them - summitted 2 14,000+ft mountains in them the next day. My feet were comfy all day.
* completely waterproof.
* laces give a custom fit every time.
* very well priced.
Cons:
honestly cannot think of one.
